Day NurseryFabulous Facilities

Candy Stripes provides separate age-appropriate rooms for Babies, Woddlers, Toddlers and Pre-School children.  Each room is equipped with quality furniture and equipment creating a stimulating environment for children.  Our approach is to have resources accessible to the children at all times, empowering them to make choices and facilitating child-led learning through play.

Jelly Babies (6 weeks to 12 months)

At this very early stage, babies are gaining competence in observing and responding to their immediate environment and communicating with those around them. The Baby Room focuses on tactile activities that stimulate and encourage development. This room reflects a “home-from-home” environment providing a gentle transition from home to nursery life. It is self-contained, with its own play room, sleep room, milk kitchen and nappy changing facility.  Click here for pictures

Dolly Mixtures (1 to 2 years)

At this age, children begin exploring their environment with increasing mobility, dexterity and language. The Woddler room enables these skills to flourish using purpose-built furniture and play resources that encourage children to stretch themselves both physically and imaginatively by exploration of the world about them.  Click here for pictures

Rainbow Drops (2 to 3 years)

With the child’s growing independence and the development of their own unique personality, our focus moves to developing a range of life, social and self-help skills. Activities such as circle time, shared meal times, dressing skills and toilet training support this stage. During this time, children are introduced to a more structured day, in preparation for the learning that lies ahead of them.  Click here for pictures

Pre-School Room (3 to 5 years)

As confidence grows and children demonstrate skills in building relationships, our activities are structured to emphasise the Early Years Foundation Stage for the development of pre-school children. Knowledge is enhanced through purposeful play and children are introduced to a wide variety of learning opportunities such as early reading and maths skills, mark-making, imaginative play and ICT.  Click here for pictures

Outdoor Play Space

Our outside area is a secure and safe environment where all children can explore various areas of experiences. We have a soft matted area, where we set-up a variety of different activities from balancing beams to mark making.  A grass area which can be used if the weather is suitable; for large floor exercises including the parachute or building blocks. A patio area is used for bikes, balancing, throwing & catching, bats and balls and much more. There is a little area for children to do digging and growing herbs and vegetables. Children can also access a role-play area, sand & water play as well as a sensory garden.  Click here for pictures

Safety & Security

Access to the site is controlled by a combination of  key code systems and CCTV for enhanced security.  Parents & carers are required to provide their child’s details and password before gaining access to the premises.  The General Manager/Childcare Manager is available to answer the door at all times,  leaving our childcare team free to give their complete attention to the children.
